Hey crew! Welcome to a new month and the latest edition of Thrivency’s weekly newsletter ðŸ‘‹ðŸ―

Here in Charlotte, the warmer temps are boosting my mood AND my sneeze count. Thanks, pollenâ€Ķ ðŸĪ§

But I’ll take the good and the bad because it means that more sunlight and time spent outside is ahead. I think we can all agree that’s a good thing for our well-being!

Speaking of well-being, I’ve curated a new roundup of interesting wellness-related headlines and topics for this week’s Wellness News You Can Use. This is a good one.

🔎 In this issue:

Before we dive in, a quick word from this week’s sponsor âĪĩïļ

🏅 Honoring Black Wellness Leaders

The Creative Collective NYC (CCNYC) is the ultimate purveyor of what’s trending in culture, especially because they create premier spaces to celebrate Black creatives and entrepreneurs. They’re likely best known for their annual event CultureCon, but I’ve been seeing more buzz lately around the annual Creative Class list.

Their 2026 list just dropped, defining the who’s who of Black “thinkers, builders and dreamers” across six different categories. And of course, I’m encouraging you to check out the Health & Wellness category—it’s chock full of fitness entrepreneurs, mental health professionals, and non-profit leaders who are defining what’s next in this industry. 🧠🧘ðŸŋ‍♂ïļ

👟 Celebrity Fitness Franchises

Kevin Hart is the latest in a string of celebrities investing in and/or building their own fitness franchises to tap in to the cult-like following of boutique studios and fitness centers. Last year, I wrote about Sloane Stephens and her investment in Ballers, a multi-functional racquet sport, wellness, and entertainment venue.

Kevin is taking a page out of this book by lending his celebrity and dollars to the growing Burn Boot Camp franchise. It’s a high-intensity workout blending strength and cardio, and fair warning, it can be addicting.

ðŸ’ŧ Better Media for Mental Health

As a media entrepreneur myself, I’m of the full belief that the content we consume not only shapes our understanding of ourselves and the world, but it can have very real impacts on our well-being. That’s why I gravitated toward this interview with NowThis CEO, Sharon Mussalli.

If you’re unfamiliar, NowThis is one of the top media companies reaching Gen-Z right now through short-form video content about everything from dating to personal finance to politics.

Mussalli hits on a pertinent point: younger generations are filtering media through a completely different lens—does this affirm my beliefs? Make me feel valued? Honor my mental well-being?

Popping in here with a few more intriguing social posts that crossed my desk (or my feed) over the past few weeks:

  • One of my favorite medical creators, @theperioddoctor, hopped in to add context and clear up some misinformation about the connection between female athletes’ ACL tears and their periods. Fascinating stuff! ðŸĪ•

  • A mother and daughter duo are building a luxury wellness farm in North Carolina where visitors can enjoy fresh farm-to-table meals, host retreats, and glamp in the great outdoors. Future SACRED SPACES episode anyone?? ðŸŒū

  • BHM is over, but it’s not too late for this fun fact. Birthfund shed light on the lesser-known history of the Black midwives who delivered babies across the South during the 19th century. ðŸ‘ĐðŸū‍🍞
