GORGIE's clean energy drinks are challenging industry competition

Wellness energy drink brand GORGIE has secured $24.5 million in Series A funding and announced its expansion to 1,900 Target stores nationwide, launching June 1, according to the company's press release. The funding round, led by Notable Capital, brings the company's total funding to $37 million since its 2022 launch by entrepreneur Michelle Cordeiro Grant.
Created by the former LIVELY founder, who sold her lingerie company to Wacoal for $105 million, GORGIE positions itself as a community-driven alternative to traditional energy drinks. The brand offers sparkling energy beverages with 150mg of natural green tea caffeine, enhanced with biotin, B-vitamins, and L-theanine for sustained energy without crashes.
What sets GORGIE apart in the crowded energy drink market is its clean formulation approach. Each drink contains zero sugar, only 5 calories, and avoids artificial sweeteners commonly found in competitors. The products are Non-GMO Project Verified, NSF Contents Certified, gluten-free, vegan, and kosher. Available flavors include Tropical Punch, Watermelon Splash, Peach Tea, and Mango Burst, with an exclusive Pink Lemonade flavor launching at Target.
The Target partnership represents a significant milestone for the women-founded brand. The expansion puts GORGIE's clean energy drinks in direct competition with industry giants while maintaining its community-first brand identity that includes featuring real customers on product cans and hosting engagement events for community members.
