Non-Toxic Braiding Hair Brand Expands National Retail Footprint with Major Store Partnerships

SLAYYY Hair continues its impressive retail expansion, bringing itch-free synthetic braiding hair to communities nationwide through strategic partnerships with major retailers. According to Beauty Independent, the Black-owned brand has secured placement in over 200 Target stores with nearly 500 additional locations planned, while also securing a new presence in 400 T.J. Maxx and Marshalls locations in 2025.

The company is also partnering with 15 Black-owned beauty supply stores, ensuring the product is accessible in various communities through culturally relevant retail channels. All 12 vibrant SLAYYY Hair colors are available across these retail locations.

The brand's proprietary cleansing process, deemed the "SLAYYY Secret Sauce," was developed specifically to remove chemicals that cause itching, scalp irritation, and hair loss—addressing long-standing concerns in the synthetic hair market. In February 2025, a Consumer Reports article detailing an investigation into dangerous chemicals in synthetic braiding hair sparked controversy across social media platforms. SLAYYY Hair’s product was launched in 2023, formulated to address the very concerns that were highlighted by this report.

SLAYYY Hair's retail expansion represents a significant milestone for Black-owned beauty brands gaining mainstream market access while serving the health needs of its core community.
